This is no regular race for Congress. This is one of the closest districts in the entire nation—and for the first time in years, this seat is open and completely up for grabs.

MAGA knows this: it’s why they are bringing out the heavy ammunition to stop me so early in the race. 

From the very first day I launched this campaign, the NRCC put a target on my back:

Here’s why MAGA is working so hard to defeat me right out of the gate: 

I am a first generation Mexican-American, a servicemember who has worn the uniform, and a human rights attorney. Early on in my legal career, I took on a pro bono case to help identify and bring to justice the far-right extremist who murdered Chilean folk singer and pro-peace activist Victor Jara in the 1970s.

We found Jara’s killer running a pizzeria in Florida. This man probably thought he had gotten away with murder. But justice doesn't give up.

But here’s why this upsets MAGA so much that they launched their attacks at the very moment I announced my candidacy: those who fight for justice and truth will always pose a threat to those who think power exists to serve them.

MAGA put a target on my back from Day 1 because they know I will never give up until justice is served. It’s not in my DNA. America is too important to hand over our freedoms to dollar store fascists.
