As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take time to personally thank you for your past support and remind you that your year-end contribution to NORML is more important than ever.
NORML is unique among cannabis organizations. We are grassroots; we survive on the contributions of our members – not on big corporate donors. We are also the only national organization that speaks on behalf of the interests of responsible cannabis consumers – not on behalf of business interests.
That is why we continue to push for policy changes that matter most to you: ending marijuana arrests, expanding access to patients, expunging criminal records, ending discriminatory workplace drug testing, repealing unscientific THC per se driving laws, pushing back against arbitrary potency limits on state-legal products, restoring 2nd Amendment rights for consumers, and consistently standing up for the rights of all Americans who use cannabis responsibly.
But we are battling against powerful interests. Our opposition is well funded and, make no mistake, they are laser-focused on recriminalizing cannabis and consumers nationwide. Over the past few months, they have flooded mainstream media with spurious stories to undermine the public's support for legalization. And in recent days, prohibitionists groups have pledged millions of dollars to fund ballot initiatives in 2026 to repeal legalization in multiple states.
These are real existential threats that we face. But while our opponents may be better funded, we have one thing they don’t: the truth. We also have you: a powerful, passionate grassroots community. And right now we need your support.
2026 will be a pivotal year for our movement. Help us continue to move forward, not backward, as we face these significant challenges head on. We won’t back down. And with your continued support, we will persevere.
Wishing you all the best in the new year,
JM Pedini
NORML Development Director
