Dear Friend of Israel,
America is not alone.
I am certain that you understand that the world is now a very complex place. In the Post World War II order, there was a commonplace understanding about the distinction between right and wrong-- between good and evil.
China has been flexing its muscles with its “belt and road” initiative. Russia has invaded Ukraine and does not seem to want to negotiate with them. Christians are being slaughtered throughout Africa, particularly in Nigeria and in the Sudan.
But there is one region in the world where our security is not diminished. In the Middle East, the Israeli Defense Force is making sure that Iranian-backed Hezbollah does not take over in Lebanon; that the Druze, Alawites, Christian and Kurds are protected in Syria; that Egypt does not send drones with ammunition into Gaza, and they adhere to the 1979 Accords; and that Iran does not rebuild its nuclear weaponry and its missile defense system.
Israel knows that the only way to survive in the Middle East conflict is to actually win. Through strength.
That is exactly why I am in Israel today, speaking to our Israeli colleagues who appreciate the greatness of the United States, what the US has to offer the world, and how that security can never be diminished, for one iota.
The Israelis know that they must have actual deterrence for their own country.
Otherwise, they know: They will not survive.
That is what the lessons of October 7^th taught us, here in Israel.
This was a genocidal horror inflicted on the Israeli people.
And they know that they will never allow this to happen again.
In the last two years, Hamas has been decimated. Hezbollah has been set back by years. The Houthis have been crippled. Iran’s capabilities have been vastly diminished.
But they must remain vigilant.
No-one understands this more than EMET. We bring this hard-earned knowledge to Capitol Hill almost every day. We help to educate our policymakers about why this relationship is so very important.
By the sharing of Israel’s excellent intelligence and military assets, the United States has saved the lives of many of its citizens. In Israel, we have true partners that share our democratic values and our Judeo-Christian principles.
This is not only a question of morality. It is a question of the national security interests of the United States.
Before this calendar year is over, please make a significant investment in EMET.
Thank you very much
Sincerely,
Sarah N. Stern
