2026 Haiti Project Expansion Plans

In 2026, Quixote Center with our partners at DCCH will expand the socioeconomic recovery project in the communes of Les Cayes to two new communities: Archambeau and Tricon. DCCH will identify 100 new farming families from these two communities who will go through the same process as the first cohort.

In January 2026, our partners will collect the baseline data of these families that allows us to measure the impact of the programs. The first quarter will focus on establishing trust and buy-in from every participant so that they feel fully engaged and committed to their community development. After a series of awareness-raising meetings and technical training sessions, between February and December 2026, these 100 farmers will:

* Create four microcredit unions or MUSOs (Mutuel de Solidarité)
* Receive seeds as loans to diversify their crops (corn, peas, plantain, rice, yam and coconut seedlings).
* Build enclosures to receive livestock (goats, sheep, pigs or cows).
The cost per family for this new cohort is $930, a bit higher than the first group due to the distance of Tricon from the rest of the area of intervention. With the help of donors like you, more families in Southern Haiti will be able to climb out of extreme poverty, send their children to school and become more resilient to climate change and natural disasters.

Please consider an end-of-year donation to support this project expansion.
Thank you!
