We launched a new workgroup called Facing the Future with the goal of organizing a series of talks, workshops, tours, and conversations about building resilience in NYC in the face of the climate crisis. We’ve thus far hosted 3 events, exploring topics such as microplastics, flooding and fashion.
We tied our local action to larger developments that threaten progress on climate

We joined 4 major marches to protect the planet, including March for the Planet in April, No Kings in June, No Billionaires in September, and No Kings in October
We built new connections and brought joy to our climate work

We celebrated 10 years of organizing together at a May birthday party

We danced and paraded for climate at the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island

We collaborated with Songwriter Sundays in McCarren Park to bring music and activism together in July

Climate Check: Stories and Solutions, our monthly podcast, produced another 6 cutting-edge podcasts on topics from trash to sustainable transportation.

We participated in SunDay, celebrating the sun and all things solar

Our Plastic-Free dropped into more than a dozen local coffee shops during its monthly Cafe Crawls, working to persuade them to reward customers who bring their own cups
