Assalamu'alaykum John,

I write to you as Dhul Hijjah begins with wishes of safety, security,
and in solidarity as we continue to experience momentous challenges in
our lives.

We are still largely locked out of our mosques, and must now also
refrain from visiting the House of God in Makkah - a rare occurrence in
modern times. We are tested by sacrificing our beloved mosque-routines
and Hajj-rituals for the benefit of the most vulnerable members of our
communities, but as we are taught, the greater the test, the greater the
reward.

MLFA routinely funds the cases of those facing seemingly insurmountable
difficulties and challenge after challenge in their lives. Our
beneficiaries know all too well the trauma of discrimination, stigma,
isolation, fear, and uncertainty. Through it all, they come to MLFA with
one thing intact: hope. Hope in God, hope in justice, hope in equality,
and hope in the support of those who seek to uphold these noble
principles.

Today, I appeal to you for your help
in
facilitating hope in justice and upholding an America for all during the
most blessed days of the year.

May we enter Dhul Hijjah with the same hope, trust, and unity that
carried us through a COVID-Ramadan. We have a unique opportunity to
fulfill our zakat or make the best gift of sadaqah during the best ten
days of the year.

Jazakumullah khayran for your support!

In faith and for justice,

Executive Director
Muslim Legal Fund of America

Help facilitate hope in justice during the best ten days of the year!
