John,

A few weeks ago I was in Plymouth with Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old who has inspired the global climate strike movement I'm a part of. She was getting ready to sail across the Atlantic to confront world leaders about the climate crisis.

Her journey comes a month before one of the biggest moments of my lifetime - the Global Climate Strike on the 20th of September. On that day, we need people of all ages to take a stand and demand real action from our governments. Whether you book time off to come, join a strike near you for half an hour or just show support online - every act will bring this movement closer to getting Boris Johnson and his government to really do something about the climate emergency.

John, if we're going to get ourselves out of this mess, we need everyone on board. That means people of all ages joining us in towns and cities across the UK on Friday the 20th of September. Are you in?

My future is being stolen from me because our politicians are refusing to take the bold, imaginative action we need to solve the climate crisis. My generation is making sure they hear us. It's time for all of us to show this government we need action now.

On Friday the 20th of September, I'm going on strike with millions of people around the world and there will be strikes across the UK. I'd rather be at school, but the climate emergency won't wait.

John, will you come to the Global Climate Strike on the 20th of September? The more people that go to a strike near them, the more pressure we can put on Boris Johnson and this government to take real action on the climate crisis.

Our governments are supposed to act in our best interests. And they have the power to stop this crisis in its tracks. But they are continuing to rely on polluting fossil fuels and destructive industrial agriculture that is making the climate crisis even worse. Let's get them to listen - the time for real action is now.

See you on the 20th? :)

PS If you can't come - showing your support online, organising a meeting with colleagues in the workplace to see what you can do to help or getting people you know to come along by forwarding this email are all really important ways of bringing attention to the Global Climate Strike.
