I'm speaking to you from Darfur, Sudan, where thousands of families are newly displaced following the recent fall of El Fasher to the RSF.

This conflict continues to kill thousands of people—and leave even more without homes, without food, and facing terrifying levels of violence.

That's why Sudan has now ranked #1 on the IRC's Emergency Watchlist for the third year in a row.

Earlier today, I spoke with Magda, a young mother of three who told me about running for her life once her husband had been killed in El Fasher. She's now trying to survive, looking after her children and figuring out what's next.

It's hard to describe the strength people here show, even when they've lost so much.

Right now, famine is taking hold in several parts of the country. People are dying from hunger every single day.

And while families here fight to survive, outside powers are still fueling this conflict for their own economic and strategic interests. The people of Sudan cannot be forgotten.
