Disaster Related Extension of Deadlines Act Signed into Law
Disaster victims endure unimaginable challenges as they work to rebuild their lives. The last thing they should worry about is navigating confusing IRS filing requirements. The Disaster Related Extension of Deadlines Act provides individuals with sufficient time to claim tax refunds or credits while ensuring clear communication from the IRS to prevent unnecessary penalties or interest.
I am grateful to President Trump for signing my bill into law to bring meaningful reform. I am also very appreciative of Chairman Smith for his leadership on the Ways and Means Committee and the unanimous, bipartisan support the bill received in Congress.
2025 Constituent Services by the Numbers
I am grateful to serve as your voice in Congress. We have much to celebrate this year with tons of wins for our district.
My office returned over $4.1 million to taxpayers, responded to 5,851 constituent emails and calls, closed over 1,200 constituent cases, and allocated over $244 million for our military bases and facilities.
Serving you is at the heart of my team's mission, and we stand ready to help you in the new year.
I look forward to bringing home many more wins for Eastern North Carolina in 2026!
2025 Legislative Wins
I am delighted to share my 2025 legislative wins as I worked hard to craft legislation that meaningfully addresses the most important issues facing you, Eastern North Carolina, and America.
I’m proud of the incredible support several of my bills have received this Congress, including the Disaster Related Extension of Deadlines Act, Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Act, Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act, and End China’s De Minimis Abuse Act. All of these pieces of legislation make America stronger for you and future generations.
Thank you for entrusting me to represent you in Congress. Serving you is my mission, and I cannot wait to continue this legislative work in the new year.
Senate Companion Legislation Introduced for DoD and VA Medical Credentialing Integration Bill
I recently introduced the bipartisan DoD and VA Medical Credentialing Integration Act to direct the Secretary of War and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to jointly select and implement a uniform credentialing and privileging system for medical providers.
This legislation presents a strategic opportunity to advance healthcare priorities throughout the federal sector's healthcare system, strengthening workforce recruitment and retention, refining effective government health agency practices, and providing support for service members and veterans, all while safeguarding and better utilizing Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars.
I am proud to continue this work alongside Senators Marsha Blackburn and Jacky Rosen, who introduced bipartisan, companion legislation in the United States Senate, to align the healthcare missions of these departments efficiently.
Congratulations to the Lumbee Tribe on Federal Recognition
In 1885, the Lumbee Tribe was recognized in North Carolina and began its long quest to seek full federal recognition thereafter. The community faced egregious oppression and violence, and while Congress acknowledged the Lumbee people in 1956, they did not receive the same benefits and recognition as other tribes.
After many decades, justice has been achieved, and with great bipartisan backing. I’m very proud to have supported this effort from the beginning.
Congratulations to the Lumbee Tribe!
NDAA Wins for Eastern North Carolina
This year’s National Defense Authorization Act provided massive wins for North Carolina’s Third District.
Our beautiful state is home to some of our nation's finest warfighters, including those serving at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Stations Cherry Point and New River.
It is my honor to fight for the necessary resources they need to protect our country. I am proud to share that $244,689,000 has been allocated to our bases.

Looking Back on the Broken Promises of Obamacare
Obamacare was passed under false promises. This program has only jacked up costs, lined the pockets of insurance companies, and increased waste, fraud, and abuse.
We don’t need a band-aid solution; we need real reform to put patients first.
