Herbert, this is my daughter, Ella.

She was born in January. It was the most special day of my life.

There’s something I often heard before I became a parent: you can’t imagine how much love you’re capable of until you have a child.

And it’s true, Herbert. Now that I’m a dad, I get it. I would walk to the ends of the earth for Ella.

That’s why I jumped in this race that could decide House control in the first place — even though I had never dreamt of running for office before.

Because as Ella grows right before my eyes, I can’t help but imagine her future.

And speaking candidly, Herbert, I’m terrified.

That’s why I jumped in this race. To fight for Ella, and every child who deserves a better future.

I’m done watching House Republicans do his dirty work and sell our future to the highest bidder, just to line their own pockets. I knew this race would be tough, but I made the bet that Americans like you would have my back. Running for office is deeply rewarding, but it can be tough.

On those long, tiring days on the campaign trail, here’s what I picture to keep me going:

— A world where every child can grow up to make their voice heard in our Democracy.

— A world where every family can put food on the table and not struggle to afford health care.

— A world where every loving gay parent can raise children without fear of bigoted attacks.

That’s what I’m fighting for in this race, Herbert.

I hate asking for money, I truly do. I know times are tough right now and money might be tight, but I can’t hold this seat without keeping up with Republican fundraising. They have millions rolling in from MAGA billionaire backers, but I won’t take a dime from special interests or corporate PACs. I’m only relying on grassroots supporters like you. Please, can you chip in $15 or anything you can to fuel my fight? I’m currently deadlocked in the race that will decide control of the entire House and every dollar could push me over the edge to win >>
