John, I’m emailing from my office because campaigns like ours can’t take weekends off when we’re only days away from major financial filing deadlines. (If you already know the stakes of our end-of-quarter deadline on Wednesday, consider pitching in right away.)

I wanted to take a moment to send a brief update on where things stand as we near our final end-of-quarter filing deadline of 2025 and the year closes out:

Our opponent claimed his campaign is directed by Donald Trump’s own campaign team — and Trump attacked Roy Cooper personally from the stage at one of his rallies. It’s clear that this race is top of mind for the president and his allies.
A far-right super PAC funded by the ultra-wealthy Koch family recently dropped six figures on TV here in NC to prop up Michael Whatley. This is just the start of the onslaught of GOP cash that we know is coming our way. It is setting the stage for this to become the most expensive U.S. Senate campaign in history.
We set our highest online fundraising goal yet — $1 million — ahead of this public filing deadline because we need the resources to stay competitive against this network of Republican mega-donors. And we need to prove to our opponent and his allies that the grassroots momentum is on our side.

With only three days remaining before the year ends, we have to file this public report, and this is where things stand, John. You also need to know that we are still short of our goal.

This is the most competitive Senate race in the country, and to win, we need to have the resources to match our opponent’s efforts dollar for dollar. Falling short of this end-of-quarter goal would seriously limit our campaign in the coming months — we can’t let that happen.
