As someone who sees our email open rates, I can tell you with absolute honesty: A lot of political outreach gets ignored.

What I see work, over and over, is local parties reaching out the right way — with real invitations and real follow-up — and people actually showing up. That’s the difference.

This year, local teams in our grants program hosted hundreds of events, and more than 300,000 people showed up in places where Democrats had stopped competing on the ballot.

In Arizona, a local party chair in our grants program used our texting tools to promote a listening tour. A record number of people signed up. These weren’t empty invites: on the day of the event, more attendees showed up than the venue could hold. And, without us, that kind of outreach would have cost the party nearly a quarter of their annual budget.

That’s what infrastructure looks like on the ground, and it’s happening in counties across the country. But the fight for 2026 has already begun. Without year-end support, we’ll have to scale back outreach — and we’ll lose races before candidate filing periods even open in some places.

When organizing continues, people show up. When it stops, the next wave never gets invited in.
