Friend,
Last month, a bill I wrote with Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) was signed into law. That bipartisan legislation, The Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act, is already helping small businesses stay afloat during this pandemic.
Passing that bill (417-1 in the House and unanimously in the Republican-held Senate!) was a unifying experience. It gave me renewed hope for what's possible when both parties work together. But the same day my bill became law, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy endorsed a Republican challenger for my seat.
With that endorsement, what should have been a moment of celebration turned into a reminder of what a strong grip partisanship has on our political system.
I'm determined to bring bipartisan leadership to Congress for another term, but I can only do it with your help. Will you chip in now to help us reach our $10,000 goal before tonight's public fundraising deadline?

As this pandemic wears on, I intend to continue reaching across the aisle to help small businesses, working families, and the millions of Americans who are out of work through no fault of their own.
But President Trump has repeatedly expressed his desire to turn our state red in 2020. I don't underestimate the lengths that out-of-state PACs will go to -- or the money they'll spend -- to flip my seat and deliver this state to Republicans.
So today, with our public FEC fundraising deadline just hours away, I'm asking: Can you chip in a few dollars by midnight to help us hit our pre-primary fundraising goal?
Now and always, I am grateful for your support.
Dean
