Despite Republicans’ control of our government, in 2025 we built power in Congress and won victories for the people in the courts and in the streets.

You can read more about these wins in yesterday’s email (below), but I also wanted to note that this year:

I was re-elected to serve as Vice Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, where I’ve been fighting for the working class while resisting Trump’s extreme agenda and fearmongering.

I launched the House of Representatives’ first-ever Environmental Justice Caucus, and I led the Mamas’ Caucus and the Get the Lead Out Caucus in demanding better for Black mothers and protecting our drinking water.

And in my district, my team and I:

• Led more than 10 service days to support seniors, veterans, and struggling families with food deliveries and more

• Donated $100,000 to nonprofit organizations and progressive candidates

• Collaborated with local groups to host Know Your Rights workshops

• Helped our neighbors navigate the pathway to citizenship

• Returned millions of dollars to constituents, from back pay to tax returns to Social Security, disability, and veterans’ payments

I’ll never stop fighting for you, and I know that together we can build movements that are powerful enough to stop fascism—and build a government that invests in people rather than billionaires and endless war.

This year, our movement built power and scored victories against Republicans’ harmful and oppressive agenda. For example:

• I joined legal filings against Trump’s abuses of power, and together we succeeded in reinstating more than 1,500 student visas, releasing detained students, and moving federal judges to block many of Trump’s actions.

• I more than doubled Congressional support for federal funding to replace lead pipes and clean up drinking water, help families pay their water bills, and expand childcare benefits.

• We secured 218 signatures to force votes on releasing the Epstein files and extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

• We pushed a record number of Congresspeople to renounce anti-Palestinian group AIPAC and support an arms embargo.

• Communities across the country blocked ICE agents from kidnapping their neighbors, and millions of Americans came together to protest Trump. I’ve been proud to march alongside you and lift up your voices in Congress.

I’ll share more below about the investigations, congressional letters, and policies I’ve led this year to help struggling families and hold Trump accountable. But first:

This year, I led and participated in hundreds of investigations and letters to the Trump administration—demanding restoration of federal funding, reinstatement of environmental protections, an end to violations of immigrants’ rights, solutions for the Black maternal health crisis, and more.

I also leveraged my oversight responsibilities and my position in the House Oversight and Financial Services Committees to:

• Visit ICE and Border Patrol facilities to expose inhumane conditions

• Question Big Tech leaders about AI’s use in discriminatory price gouging

• Question leaders in Trump’s administration about attacks on anti-discrimination laws

• Try to subpoena Wall Street and Elon Musk to testify before Congress

• Introduce amendments to prevent tax breaks for billionaires and release Epstein’s financial transactions

And I secured significant support from my colleagues for 23 policies I introduced this year, which would:

• Increase affordable housing, cash assistance for families and unhoused youth, civil rights protections, wages for musicians, health care providers for veterans, FEMA disaster assistance, justice for survivors of Agent Orange, and health equity

• Support more families in qualifying for federal assistance

• Stop corporations’ price gouging, reduce firearm deaths of children, prevent discrimination in car insurance rates, block weapons to Israel’s military, stop the genocide in Gaza, ban members of Congress from trading or owning stocks in companies that do business with the Department of Defense, and tax outrageous CEO pay

Many people are feeling afraid and hopeless right now, and that’s understandable—but we must not give into cynicism and despair. We have so much power when we come together, and we’re making progress toward winning back control of Congress in 2026 and ensuring Democrats pass transformative policies for the people.
