Dear John,
I’m proud to serve as Board Treasurer for the Arms Control Association.
Why? ACA is extremely productive, impactful, and focuses on the weapons-related security issues that matter most, including:
- the ongoing struggle to head-off a dangerous and costly nuclear arms race after New START expires,
-
pushing back against threats to renew U.S. nuclear testing,
- finding new pathways to re-establish verifiable limits on Iran’s nuclear program, and
- developing concepts to mitigate the risks of the integration of AI into nuclear command and control systems.
With a small team and a modest $1.55 million annual budget, ACA produces ten high-quality, information-packed issues of the flagship journal Arms Control Today each year, plus high-quality research papers, issue briefs, fact sheets, and e-newsletters that scholars, policymakers, officials, and experts rely upon.
Working in coalition with allies and partners, ACA tackles big problems and works to develop pragmatic solutions.
Because ACA is a leading source for the mainstream and alternative media on nuclear matters, the organization helps shape the debate.
I hope you will join me in furthering ACA’s effective work for a safer world at this pivotal moment in the history of the nuclear age.
