Friend, earlier this week, Ed reached out to talk about the damning 60 Minutes segment about the immigrants who are being tortured at the CECOT prison after Trump sent them there illegally.
The story exposed the worst of Trump's extremist immigration policies. And that’s why it got taken down.
But it wasn’t enough that Trump’s new allies in charge at CBS spiked the story before it aired.
Now Stephen Miller, Trump’s top advisor, is publicly calling for the journalists and producers at 60 Minutes who pushed back on that decision to be fired.
Here’s a simple message for Stephen Miller and the Trump administration: If you don’t want journalists to report on you doing evil things, don’t do evil things.
You can’t tell the free press what to do.
You are not entitled to positive news coverage.
You don’t get to use your power to bully, intimidate, and silence journalists for telling the truth about your administration.
Everyone — Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike — should reject this nonsense. America is governed by the Constitution and has guaranteed the freedom of press for 250 years. To take a page out of Stephen Miller’s book: If you don’t like it, leave!
Friend, if you want to see the extremist agenda of these wannabee-dicators go down in flames, the first step is electing a progressive majority in Congress this November.
