[1]Talarico for Texas
John —
I promised you from the start that I would run this campaign with radical
transparency. So I want to take a moment to pull back the curtain in a way
most U.S. Senate candidates would not.
Running within a rigged system doesn’t mean we have to give into what’s
broken. We can reject the corruption of corporate PAC money and make clear
that we are not going to sell our values to the highest bidder.
But it requires a whole lot of us digging deep to give whatever time or
treasure we can spare if we want to take back Texas.
That’s especially true with our first full quarter FEC deadline on
Thursday. The only way we hit our goals is with lots of people giving.
Folks like you are the backbone of this campaign, and you deserve an
honest look at what it will take for us to succeed.
Right now, it means reaching 7,000 donations before midnight to stay on
track. It’s a steep goal, yes. And I promised radical transparency, so
here it is.
The thermometer below is linked directly to our ActBlue and will update
every few minutes. Everybody will be able to watch how we’re tracking. You
can see for yourself whether we beat it or fall short.

[ [link removed] ]Can you please make a donation of any amount and push us one step
closer to taking back Texas? This FEC fundraising deadline is important.
But if we each give a little, then we’ll hit our goal before you know it.

Showing these numbers requires vulnerability. But building a movement that
can take back Texas requires trying something new.
We’ve seen where the DC playbook (sponsored by billionaires and corporate
mega-donors) gets us. It fails the people and upholds a broken status quo.
The only way I want to run — and the only way I think a Democrat can flip
Texas — is with a true grassroots movement of the people and for the
people.
Am I nervous that we’re a long way from this goal right now? You bet. If
we fall short, everyone will know.
But I owe you — the people funding this movement — honesty. Too many
politicians forget there are real humans on the other side of these
emails. They treat it like a transactional relationship. But I won’t.
[ [link removed] ]Can you please contribute any amount that you can afford today to own a
piece of this movement? Our goal is focused on the number of donations
because the number of people powering this movement is just as important
as the amount we raise.
If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution
instantly.
