Hi friend,
Do you remember how it felt right after the 2024 election? I’ll never
forget.
For many, it was a moment of profound discouragement and even
disorientation. The ground felt unsteady. It wasn’t clear how Democrats
would turn things around – or where hope would come from next. I heard
that uncertainty everywhere I went, from people who care deeply about this
country and were wondering if there could be any constructive future for
our nation’s politics.
But something important has happened since then.
Across the country, voters have begun to show – repeatedly and frequently
– that a hopeful, disciplined politics can work. We’ve seen seats flip
that weren’t supposed to be competitive. We’ve seen exceptional turnout in
places written off as unreachable. And we’ve seen candidates win by
focusing less on outrage and more on solving real problems in people’s
lives.
Those results didn’t happen by accident. They came from showing respect
for voters, telling the truth about what’s at stake, and doing the patient
work of organizing – election by election, community by community.
Now, we’re less than a year out from the midterms. And the truth is, the
work we do right now will shape what happens next – not just in one
election, but in the direction of our democracy.
That’s why I set up Win the Era. This organization is about amplifying
causes we care about and leaders ready to carry us forward: leaders
focused on building what comes next, not relitigating what came before. We
stand with those who understand that democracy is something we renew, not
something we inherit and expect to work on its own.
For my part, I’m committed to amplifying the leaders our country deserves
and continuing to show up – traveling, listening, and making the case that
our best days are still ahead if we’re willing to do the work together.
