Dear Friend,

I wanted to make sure you saw Rich’s message. President Trump has been trying to cut Social Security by cutting the payroll tax since the start of the pandemic.

And if he doesn’t get his way, he says he will veto any more coronavirus help for seniors, small businesses, schools, and people who have lost their jobs. He’s even willing to hold up money for more coronavirus testing!!!

We must stop his attempt to gut our earned benefits. Sign our petition to tell Congress to BLOCK any Social Security cuts.

Congress says it wants to vote before the end of July. There’s no time to waste.

Thanks for all you do.

Subject: Trump Wants Social Security Cuts. Now.

Dear Friend,

President Trump is again going after Social Security. He said it yesterday on Fox News and again today from the Oval Office.

He wants this tax cut so badly he’s holding millions of Americans who need help making ends meet during this recession hostage.

Why does the payroll tax matter? Because it is how we fund Social Security.

A payroll tax cut will starve the Social Security system and puts our earned retirement benefits at risk.

A payroll tax won’t help people who aren’t working -- but it will help the wealthiest Americans and rich corporations.

Getting rid of Social Security’s main source of funding is dangerous. It will hurt current and future retirees the most.

This really is urgent. Congress is going to act on a coronavirus package in the next 10 days!

We need to make sure Trump’s Social Security cut isn’t part of the deal.

Thank you for all you do.
