As far-right violence rises, the redistricting fight escalates, and bipartisanship collapses, one might think that even the brashest of MAGA might find it in their hearts to pause the fighting. Some Republicans did try. In Indiana, where Trump was pushing for a massive redistricting that would have removed all Democratic seats, a detachment of courageous GOP lawmakers stood up to Trump, despite threats to their lives, and rejected his redistricting call. Their hope was that by refusing to escalate they could stop the redistricting arms race which is beginning to spiral out of control and create a “ceasefire” of sorts. Unfortunately MAGA turned down the opportunity to stop the escalation and are instead using the Holiday season to expand their war on Democrats. Over just the last week Trump has expanded the GOP efforts to redistrict Florida as well as Utah. No ceasefire is coming. Cooler heads will not prevail. They plan to show us no mercy. The only language that MAGA understands is the language of force. Our only choice is to inflict so much pain on them that they are forced to stop. Blue states like Colorado must step up and erase GOP districts off their Congressional maps.
