As government food assistance faced delays and cuts this November, DPN community members came to us with an urgent message: they were facing food insecurity.
We sprung to action, sending outreach to 100+ DPN members to identify their specific needs and preferences. Over 50 responses came in with members sharing additional needs such as hygiene products, laundry detergent, diapers, and more. We got to work immediately, reaching out to partners across Los Angeles, seeking donations and sourcing items based on what our community told us they needed.
Our friends at National Bail Out supported via their Food Freedom Fund, and we were able to go above and beyond meeting the DPN family and community requests.
