Hi, friend, it's Deb. One of my favorite parts of running for governor is meeting New Mexicans across the state — we all care about our families and communities and have big hopes for the future.
|
|
Since we launched this campaign, folks have welcomed me into their living rooms. I’ve sat with them around their dinner tables, and joined community gatherings. I've heard their stories, their worries, and their ideas for the future. Hearing from folks has made it clear that together we can take on the challenges ahead and build the state our communities deserve.

As we wrap up 2025 and begin 2026, I want to reflect and take a moment to share some of my favorite memories from the campaign trail with you. Before I do, I want to say this: None of this happens without you. Your support has made it possible for me to visit all 33 counties — and in 2026, we’re going to build on that momentum.
|
|
That’s why, friend, I’m asking you to chip in $5 to keep this campaign moving forward. With the GOP ready to spend anything to take over New Mexico, I’m relying on the support of this grassroots team.

In February, I kicked off my campaign with thousands of supporters across New Mexico. From the start, this movement has always been bigger than me. It's about the belief that leaders should make people's lives easier, not harder. We're fighting for safer communities, better education, affordable food, healthcare, and utilities, and a brighter future for all New Mexicans.

In June, I was honored to march with love and purpose as Grand Marshall of the Santa Fe Pride Parade! As the next governor of New Mexico, I will fight fiercely to defend the dignity, rights, and safety of every LGBTQ+ person in our state – in every classroom, courtroom, and public space.

Over the summer, I joined many Pueblos for their feast days, fairs, and parades. As a 35th-generation New Mexican and a proud member of Laguna Pueblo, I am both of and for New Mexico, and I will always fight to ensure your traditions are protected and honored.

In September, I joined families in Española for a fentanyl awareness walk. This terrible drug has taken so many loved ones and causes so much crime. My own journey to sobriety taught me that we must face hard truths if we want to make change, which is why I’ll never walk away from the toughest challenges that face New Mexico.

High prices, homelessness, crime, and addiction weigh heavily on our state, and too many families are being left behind. As governor, I will tackle these challenges head-on by strengthening addiction services, expanding access to affordable housing, and giving communities the support they need to live safe and healthy lives.

Late September, I stood on the picket line with Creamland Dairy workers and unions who were striking for fair pay and benefits. As a former Teamster myself, I know what it's like to stand up to powerful corporations, and I believe no worker should have to do it alone. When I'm governor, New Mexico workers will always have a champion in their corner.

This month, I toured Central New Mexico Community College’s Trades and Technologies Center, where I was briefed on workforce training programs. Our state is full of bright minds, and the path to success does not need to look the same for everyone. As prices rise, New Mexicans need access to high-paying jobs, and we must give students the opportunity to explore career pathways that can get them there, whether through college or the trades.
|
|
As governor, I plan to establish career pathways programs that give students these options even earlier, bringing job training into middle and high schools to keep students engaged, address workforce shortages, and help New Mexicans pursue careers that allow them to provide for their families.

In recent weeks, I've been gathering with New Mexicans across the state to celebrate the holidays. From baking biscochitos to lighting luminaries, this is a season filled with tradition, warmth, and family.

This year of hard work, action, and community leaves me incredibly grateful, hopeful, and determined to fight for the bright future New Mexico deserves – but I can’t accomplish it alone. Every step of my journey has been possible because people like you believed in me, friend. Thank you for being a part of it and making it all possible!
And the momentum isn’t stopping here: 2026 is right around the corner.
