When kids play and learn together, they build connections that matter. Fourth grader Odessa was excited to join the Junior Coach Leadership Program and connect with fifth graders like Mikela and Kimberly. These student leaders worked alongside each other, sharing a common interest in serving as mentors to the younger students on the playground.

Odessa shared that she likes “being silly with the kids” and that laughing and playing together is important because “it makes a connection that goes beyond the recess yard.”
