At 65, Denise found herself at a crossroads. After stepping away from the workforce to focus on her health, she was eager to return, but the industry she had once thrived in had changed dramatically.
Despite an impressive career in computer graphics, operations management, and even a role at a major studio, she faced multiple barriers to finding a new job.

Living below the poverty level and unsure of her next step, Denise searched for “jobs for seniors.” That search led her to NCOA’s workforce training program, and it changed everything. Through coaching, hands-on experience, and the support of a caring community, Denise rebuilt her confidence and skills, landing a full-time role as a Development Coordinator at Felton Institute.

Denise’s story shows that it’s never too late to redefine what aging well can look like. And right now, you can help create more stories like hers.

Between now and December 31, all gifts of $75 or more will be matched 1:1 thanks to NCOA’s Board—doubling your impact for older adults nationwide.
