John,

It’s been 37 days since Governor Reynolds made a promise, and she’s failed to deliver.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds promised to sign an executive order restoring the voting rights of incarcerated people who’ve completed their sentences.

Since then, we’ve seen little to no movement from her office, and we’re 104 days until Election Day.

Gov. Reynolds made a promise, and we’re going to hold her to it. Previously incarcerated people have paid their debt to society and should regain their voting rights. If you agree, sign our petition today.

Black people face incarceration at a rate five times higher than white people -- and when our government denies access to the ballot box for previously imprisoned Americans, we disenfranchise Black voices.

But that’s not the only reason to oppose felon disenfranchisement. The fact is, when our criminal justice system sends people to prison, their punishment is time served -- not time served plus a lifetime of exclusion from our democracy.

Governor Reynolds has the power to right this wrong and has promised to do so ... what’s the holdup?

Whatever the reason, we’re done waiting. If you think all Americans should have access to the ballot box, sign our petition and tell Governor Reynolds to issue an executive order restoring voting rights to previously incarcerated people today.
