One year ago today, Hillary Cassel switched parties to become a Republican — betraying the voters who elected her as a Democrat.

She’s flattered Trump and DeSantis at every turn and has become a reliable vote for Republican leadership in Tallahassee. Meanwhile, during one of the worst affordability crises Florida families have ever faced, she passed zero bills to fix our broken property insurance system.

Instead, she made headlines for proposing a bizarre, Islamophobic bill — more culture-war politics while everyday costs keep rising.

I truly hope this year as a Republican has been everything you hoped it would be, Hillary.

As for me, I’ll be working every day to flip this seat back to Democratic control in 2026 and deliver leadership that actually focuses on affordability, fairness, and accountability.
