Here is your Weekly NRT! Up first, we have an article discussing the sorry state of transsexual healthcare for minors and how and why trans kids deserve better. - As it stands, 1,000 kids in the US each year get access to HRT out of roughly 300,000 trans youth aged between 13 and 17.
- As Jane has previously argued, HRT should be over the counter (and free at the point of service), including for children.
- Bodily autonomy is a human right, and it should be for all.
Jane writes that, "This is a system of care so horribly inefficient that it would never be tolerated for a group of people that society at large actually wanted to exist." Up next, we have a piece by our reporter from Brazil, Roberta. They write about a right-wing politician being forced to pay restitution to a trans woman after violently misgendering her on social media. - In Brazil, calling a trans woman a man is a violation of anti-discrimination laws.
- Brazil does have both freedom of speech and freedom of press, however there are consequences in place for hateful speech that is in violation of the law.
- The politician must pay the woman he misgendered 40,000 Reais, which works out to about $7251 in US Dollars (at time of writing).

For our culture coverage, we recently published a review by Jane that you may have missed! She reviewed Chicken Heart, a trans coming of age story that "gets it right". Further, as part of our ongoing work to build transsexual culture rather than only report on it, The Needle recently published The Curse you gave us by Morrigan Vandelle. Morrigan's piece delves into revolution, violence, and the bloodlust involved for all parties using a discussion surrounding Charlie Kirk's death. Finally, I wanted to highlight an interesting piece published by Assigned Media. While I don't benefit from pushing Assigned's work directly, I do believe in trans community building and radical solidarity.
