Over the past year, our AFSC community has mobilized for a more just and peaceful world in so many ways. Together, we have stood up to attacks on immigrant rights in the U.S., provided lifesaving aid to Palestinians in Gaza, and supported peacebuilders in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and communities around the world. Through it all, we have witnessed the power of collective action and the resilience of communities working for their rights and dignity. Thank you for all the ways you have made a difference. Providing aid, protecting rights for migrants in Latin America By Marcia Aguiluz Soto
Over the past six months, AFSC and partners have provided support to more than 2,600 migrants across Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and El Salvador. Through the Hummingbird Plan, we're providing people with food and other vital aid, psychosocial support, and Know Your Rights training. We're also helping local organizations document migrants’ experiences for advocacy. “The Hummingbird Plan is proving that another approach is possible—one that centers human dignity," writes AFSC’s Marcia Aguiluz Soto.

1,000+ communities declare themselves apartheid-free
This month, we celebrate a major milestone: Over 1,000 congregations, organizations, and businesses have now taken the Apartheid-Free pledge. Pledge signers commit to cut ties with Israeli apartheid and to oppose all forms of racism, discrimination, and oppression. These 1,000-plus groups represent over a million constituents in North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. “Our faith and conscience call us not just to witness but to act against injustice,” says AFSC's Rev. Immigrant leader Jeanette Vizguerra-Ramirez wins release from detention
After nine months in detention, longtime Colorado resident and immigrant leader Jeanette Vizguerra-Ramirez is home with her family, where she belongs. Her case has highlighted how the Trump administration targets advocates to silence dissent. But last week, a federal judge ruled her detention unconstitutional and ordered a bond hearing, which led to her freedom. Jeanette’s release comes after months of advocacy by her family and community. “We will continue to stand with Jeanette and against any administration that tries to jail and deport our communities and families,” said AFSC’s Jordan Garcia.
