To prevent cruelty to animals, we promote enacting and enforcing good public policies. To enact good laws, we must elect good lawmakers, and that’s why we remind voters which candidates care about our issues and which ones don’t. If you’d like to unsubscribe, click here.
Partnerships are shaping the future of animal welfare.

Dear Friend,

When dedicated, mission-aligned organizations work together, we enhance our ability to drive social reform and shield animals from cruelty driven by human selfishness.

At Animal Wellness Action, we know that you value unity. That’s why we seize every opportunity to build coalitions that compel politicians, judges, law enforcement officials, the media, and other decision-makers and influencers to pay attention.

We value our partnerships with SPCA International, GREY2K USA Worldwide, Protect Our Wildlife Vermont, the National Sheriffs’ Association, the Coalition to Protect America’s National Parks, Elephants Without Borders, and many other organizations. As we continue our fight to save barred owls from a government-orchestrated assault, we have rallied a coalition of 450 organizations, including the Tahoma Bird Alliance, Northwest Bird Rescue and more than 50 local Audubon societies and wildlife rehabilitation organizations.

With our partners at Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) this year, we sniffed out, investigated, and broke up animal fighting derbies in Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and other states. This collaboration — with our investigators using drones to surveil cockfights or infiltrating them directly and then alerting law enforcement to crimes and cruelty in progress — has taken our anti-cockfighting campaigns to a new level. It has disrupted organized criminal activity, triggered arrests of perpetrators, and created a climate of uncertainty among animal fighting syndicates.

Our partnership with Switch4Good also delivered a major legislative breakthrough — ending the dairy milk mandate in the National School Lunch Program. When this national policy is implemented in the months ahead, we’ll work on rollout to ensure families have real choice through healthy and nutritious plant-based milk options. It makes no sense to put milk on every child’s tray when 40 percent of children are lactose intolerant. That practice leads to milk waste, burns taxpayer dollars, and makes kids ill in the classroom, interfering with their ability to learn. It also shows disrespect for cows who endure the rigors of production only to see more than 100 million gallons of their milk tossed in the trash every year.

We also rely on communications partners like Animals 24/7, whose national investigations and reporting help spread awareness of our campaigns. Every serious cause needs news outlets that conduct in-depth examinations of core issues, and Animals 24/7 helps deliver that understanding to its readers.

These partnerships are force multipliers, allowing us to do more and do better. They also allow us to work at a scale that matches the coalitions of our political adversaries. There is strength in numbers, and any army commander, trade association, or union understands that simple principle. We must unite to succeed.

Right now, we are in the early phase of our year-end campaign, with a $25,000 matching gift in place. Every dollar you give today is doubled, helping us sustain these partnerships and expand their impact in 2026.

Please make your year-end gift now and stand with a growing network of organizations working together to protect animals.
