John,

We've had an incredible amount of support for our call to remove the largest confederate monument in the world.

Please sign our petiton if you haven't already, and once you've signed please share on social media with your friends and neighbors and help us spread the word. - [link removed]

The call to remake Stone Mountain Park into a centerpiece of freedom and justice will require changes to the state law in Georgia, but anyone can sign on in support of this proposal.

To change everyhing, we will need everyone. Let's continue the march that Congressman John Robert Lewis started - a march for peace, justice and reconciliation, and for good, necessary trouble.

John,

Last week Ryan Gravel and Scott Morris penned an op-ed about how to remove the largest confederate monument in the world. Their recommendation -- let nature take it over. - [link removed]

It may sound crazy - replacing a 150ft mountainside carving with plants, but plant life has existed on Stone Mountain for millions of years, and if we let it, nature will reclaim this granite ball.

I don't know about you, John, but I would much rather enjoy my hikes at this state park if I could look up and see life-giving, oxygen-producing monadnock vegetation (the ancient variety), instead of a view of hate and oppression.

As a DeKalb County Commissioner, I will work to see changes like this implemented. It is time to move forward into an era of peace and reconciliation.

Sign my petition to remake Stone Mountain Park into a centerpiece of freedom and justice. A better world is possible and together we can make it real. - [link removed]
