Just consider the work of one partner, African Education Program (AEP). They are based in Zambia, which has one of the world’s fastest growing and youngest populations: 68% of Zambians are under the age of 25.
AEP’s Reproductive Health Access Initiative provides modern contraceptives, education on pregnancy and HIV/STI prevention, and access to menstrual health products. Their outreach helps to remove barriers to attending school, particularly for girls and young women. While the pregnancy rate for Zambian teens under 18 is 30% in, students participating in AEP’s program have a pregnancy rate of just 2%.
