Indiana Republican posts AI pics of himself beating up Santa Claus because "bureaucratic overreach" or something
We aren't exactly sure what Santa did to deserve this, but for some reason Republican state Sen. Chris Garten posted an absurd series of AI-generated pictures of him beating the shit out of Ol' St. Nick. Garten, a 43-year-old father of three who's clearly half as clever as he thinks he is, decided Christmas Day was the perfect moment to finally address that woke bastard Kris Kringle's notorious affinity for...bureaucracy? Garten tweeted: "When you find out the North Pole is trying to bring more bureaucratic overreach & unfunded mandates down the chimney disguised as 'Christmas cheer.' Not on my watch. We The People run Indiana, not the bureaucrats. Take it back to the North Pole big guy." Excuse our language, but what the fuck is he talking about? And here we thought Democrats were the ones declaring war on Christmas all this time.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump freaks out over Epstein in Christmas day meltdown
Turns out America's wannabe dictator wasn't quite finished with his annual holiday airing of many grievances this year, following his Christmas Eve AND Christmas morning Truth Social barrages with yet another thumb-smashed doozy yesterday afternoon. A particularly irritable Trump clearly had Epstein on the brain as he once again tried to distance himself from the world's most infamous pedophile who once described himself as Donald's best friend. Never one to go quietly into the night, the MAGA cult leader wrapped up his screed with an ominous warning to Democrats, telling them to "Enjoy what may be your last Merry Christmas!"

Trump plans huge handout for Big Oil and puts our coastline in serious danger
Protect Our Coast Coalition: At a time when our climate change studies are desperately begging us to stop fossil fuel pollution before it’s too late, Donald Trump just unveiled a huge new handout to Big Oil, proposing a new National Offshore Drilling Plan that would open up huge swathes of ocean in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, and California to industrial defilement. American taxpayers spent $1 TRILLION last year cleaning up from climate-related natural disasters, but Trump is happy to pass those costs on to us while his cronies get rich — and he’s putting our coastal communities and their livelihoods under threat from destructive oil spills. Click here to make your voice heard and tell the Trump team we want NO more offshore oil drilling!
Federal judge blocks ICE from arresting immigrants who show up for court appointments in Northern California
A federal judge in San Francisco on Wednesday barred Immigration and Customs Enforcement and its Justice Department counterpart from "sweeping" civil arrests at immigration courthouses across Northern California, teeing up an appellate challenge to one of the Trump administration's most controversial deportation tactics. "This circumstance presents noncitizens in removal proceedings with a Hobson’s choice between two irreparable harms," Judge P. Casey Pitts wrote in his Christmas Eve decision. "First, they may appear in immigration court and face likely arrest and detention," the judge wrote. "Alternatively, noncitizens may choose not to appear and instead to forego their opportunity to pursue their claims for asylum or other relief from removal." Wednesday's decision blocks ICE and the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review from lying in wait for asylum seekers and other noncitizens at routine hearings throughout the region — a move that would effectively restore pre-Trump prohibition on such arrests.
Nation six times smaller than Rhode Island agrees to take in 75 migrants from US in exchange for $7.5 million
Palau, a tiny archipelago six times smaller than Rhode Island, just inked a deal with the Trump administration to take in 75 migrants in exchange for $7.5 million plus additional, undisclosed aid. According to the deal, migrants who have never been charged with a crime will be allowed to live and work in the 180-square-mile country in the western Pacific Ocean, which is home to fewer than 18,000 people. You can really see Donald's masterful negotiating tactics at work here, can't ya? Current estimates place the number of undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 million, which means Trump only needs a couple trillion more bucks and several millennia to finally solve our pesky immigration challenges. Godspeed, Donnie!
