Primary Election Season No images? Click here John, Who we elect matters. Elected officials make decisions that impact all of us, every day. We stand with all of you protesting, rallying, and marching. Holding our leaders and decision makers accountable is the ultimate form of civic engagement. This is how we make our voices heard and push our leaders to create policy at the scale of the problems we face. Right now, voters across the country understand the importance of every level of government and every elected position. Remember that Monday, July 27, is the last day to register, update, or change your voter information online or by mail for the August Primary Election. Even in a national election year, we know we need to hold our local and state leaders accountable. Here in Washington state, ballots were recently mailed out for the Primary Election, and Washington Conservation Voters has endorsed a slate of candidates who will stand up for our environment and the health of our communities. << READ WCV'S 2020 Endorsements >> 2020 is the most important election of our lifetime. From US President and Congress to the state Legislature and county councils, these are the leaders who can affect systemic change. We are at a turning point in history, and who we vote for matters. This is a moment that calls for us to do things differently. The climate crisis is not slowing down and neither are we. In the coming months and years ahead, we must elect leaders who are willing to take the bold steps needed to address the systemic weaknesses made clear by the current federal administration and pandemic. We should only consider our economy to be thriving if workers, the environment, and communities are protected and healthy. As we recover from an economic recession and seek justice for frontline communities, we need leaders who prioritize public health, protect workers, and invest in policies that address climate change, clean up toxic pollution, and restore our forests and waters. << CHECK OUT WCV's Endorsements >> In 2019 our state passed the strongest 100% clean electricity bill in the nation. In 2020, Washington can build on that success and work to prioritize people, place, and the health and sustainability of future generations. That starts with who we vote for in 2020. Will you help us elect the leaders who will decide our future? In solidarity, Lennon Bronsema |
