Seriously, this is not a drill: the Supreme Court has greenlit yet another round of voter suppression.

A challenge to Florida’s pay-to-vote system targeting formerly incarcerated individuals made its way to the Supreme Court. Instead of protecting the right to vote against self-interested politicians, the Roberts Court rejected the challenge and determined that the discriminatory practice can stay.

The Supreme Court just permitted a 21st century poll tax. The Republican majority on this Court is anti-democracy, pure and simple.

Sadly, we’re not surprised: John Roberts has never met a voter suppression scheme he wasn’t willing to uphold. The Roberts Court has gutted the Voting Rights Act, boosted gerrymandering, allowed corporations to spend billions to try to buy elections, and made voters in multiple states wait in long lines to cast their ballots -- in the middle of a pandemic, no less. Absolutely reprehensible.

When it comes to voting rights, John Roberts is a partisan Republican. The Republicans have made clear they’ll stop at nothing to steal elections, and the GOP has an important ally: the Republican majority on the Supreme Court.

Now is the time to fight back. Chip in today and reject the Roberts Court’s attacks on our democracy.

Our democracy will not be safe as long as there is a partisan, political majority on the Supreme Court.
