Dear John,

It has been a big year for the Center for Genetics and Society! We’re deeply grateful for your support every step of the way.

In 2025, CGS:

  • Launched Confronting Eugenics, thanks to a major new grant, to counter resurgences of eugenics in science, technology, and medicine. Just this month, we kicked off the new Confronting Eugenics Network with 35 brilliant scholars and advocates
  • Convened leaders in reproductive, disability and LGBTQ+ justice and health equity to build stronger coalitions and align strategies on reproductive technologies
  • Completed a seamless leadership transition following Marcy Darnovsky’s retirement after 13 years as Executive Director

By strengthening our small but mighty team with new funders and colleagues, and launching innovative programs, CGS is rising to meet this challenging moment.

As blatant eugenics reemerges in politics, policy, and culture, CGS is connecting the dots between – and raising the alarm about – attacks on marginalized communities, pronatalist pushes, and Silicon Valley’s designer baby dreams.

We see the harm that eugenic policies are already having on people with disabilities, immigrants, LGBTQ+ communities, and many more. Combining eugenic impulses with AI, genetics, and reproductive technologies will only supercharge the risks.

As we strengthen coalitions and build new ones, CGS is poised to fight for a future where social justice and human rights—not profit—guide the use of these powerful technologies.

Will you donate today to power our work in 2026?

We’re counting on you to help us raise $25,000 by the end of the year. Right now, your gift can go twice as far! A group of generous CGS supporters is matching donations made before the end of the year, up to $5,000!

Don’t miss this opportunity to advance CGS’ work toward genetic justice in 2026.

As always, your support is essential and deeply appreciated.

Katie Hasson
