*5th Annual Nativity Blessing Honors Wyoming Law Enforcement Officers*
Christmas at the Capitol
Twinkling lights at the Capitol. Jennie and I were honored to attend and recognize the brave who protect Wyoming.
The 5th Annual Nativity Blessing [ [link removed] ] brought together more than 100 state and local leaders for a special holiday program. This year's blessing was dedicated to honoring Wyoming law enforcement. It was a moment to slow down and remember the true meaning of Christmas: service to others. We gathered to thank Cheyenne Police Department, Laramie County Sheriff's Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol. We are grateful for those who protect our communities, for the freedom to gather in faith, and for the hope we celebrate this Christmas season.

*The Essentials Budget*
JAC 2025
The Governor unveiled the 2027–2028 biennial budget proposal at the Joint Appropriations Committee meeting.
Titled “The Essentials" Governor Gordon's proposed budget emphasizes careful stewardship, long-term planning, and Wyoming values rooted in family, community, and responsible government.

"Governor Gordon defended long-term investment, explaining that, consistent with his conservative principles, he believes in setting money aside so it can generate long-term, permanent returns." [ [link removed] ]

The budget reflects the shared priorities Wyomingites consistently express: strong families, strong communities, strong opportunity, and a strong future for the next generation. Now is not the time to look nostalgically backwards, instead, it's a time to stay the course, building a prosperous Wyoming for generations to come.
*ICYMI: "... The Governor also noted that while reserves are essential for short-term needs, permanent savings protect Wyoming from volatility and mirror the foresight shown by past generations that have led to the current income from investments." [ [link removed] ]*

On the 4th Day of Hanukkah, Wyoming's Jewish Community gathered at the State Capitol to celebrate life. [ [link removed] ] The celebration was filled with joy, but also with the stark reminder of the violence the Jewish community continues to face worldwide. The Governor and First Lady join with citizens nationwide in expressing heartbreak about the violent attack in Australia during a recent Hanukkah event on Bondi Beach in Sydney.
"An act of hate especially during a holy celebration of light is an attack on all people of good will. Our prayers remain with those affected. May the light of Hanukkah endure and may we choose peace over darkness," said the Governor.

*Talking Taxes with First Responders in Goshen County*
Firefighters_Torrington
Gov: It was an honor to meet with Platte County Sheriff's Office and first responders and the Goshen County communities’ first responders and wildfire fighters at the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department this month to have a conversation about how our taxes work.
Talking Taxes
Wyoming’s tax structure needs to work for the people who live and work here, and not create additional burdens for our local communities.
"I was honored to meet with Platte County Sheriff's Office and first responders and the Goshen County communities’ first responders and wildfire fighters at the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department this month to have a conversation about how our taxes work," Governor Gordon said.
Local governments deserve stability and predictability. Shifting burdens onto them, or onto small businesses, only creates problems down the road.
Lawmakers need to take a comprehensive look at tax policy, not piecemeal changes that help some while hurting others. Wyoming families, schools, and communities deserve a tax system that’s fair, conservative, understandable and built to last.
