An Index lunchtime discussion on just how much we're being surveilled even at home.

Can people see more than just your bookshelves on Zoom? How up close and personal are those drones getting in the sky? Will contact tracing apps look at more than just encounters with those infected with Covid-19? Join industry experts, journalists and the Index on Censorship magazine team for a discussion about some of the most important issues we face today when it comes to our privacy in the age of coronavirus.

Kaya Genç is an author and a journalist from Istanbul whose writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Financial Times, and New Humanist. He is the author of Under the Shadow and, more recently, The Lion and the Nightingale. Issa Sikiti da Silva is an award-winning freelance journalist who has traveled extensively across Africa. Born in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, he has lived in South Africa and worked as a foreign correspondent in West Africa. His work has been published in nearly 40 media outlets. Award-winning editor-in-chief of Index on Censorship magazine Rachael Jolley will be chairing the conversation.

This event is free to attend, but donations are welcome.
