Dear Friends,

As we come to celebrate the Nativity of our Lord, I'm struck this year by the profound intimacy of the Incarnation. In choosing to enter our world as a vulnerable child, God made himself fully known to us—and in doing so, made it possible for us to be fully known by him.

“Joy, O joy, beyond all gladness, Christ hath done away with sadness!”

This Christmas mystery reminds us that we are not anonymous faces, but children who are beloved, known, and named. The same God who took on flesh in Bethlehem knows our joys and sorrows, our hopes and struggles. In Christ, we encounter not a distant deity but Emmanuel—God with us—who understands us completely because he has walked in our shoes.

As we close 2025, I want to express deep gratitude for your faithful partnership with The Living Church Foundation. Your readership, prayers, and generous support enable us to share the good news of God's self-revelation in Christ in the Episcopal Church and with all Anglicans and fellow travelers around the world.
