You might know me as an actor and activist, but today I’m writing to you as a proud Buckeye and a longtime admirer and friend of Sherrod Brown.

I was born and raised in the working-class city of Dayton, Ohio. My father worked in a factory to support me and my nine siblings. We were the kind of family Sherrod has spent his entire career fighting for.

Sherrod believes in the Dignity of Work – the idea that hard work should pay off for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected. That principle has guided him his entire life, and it’s exactly the kind of leadership we need representing Ohioans in the U.S. Senate.

But Sherrod is running in one of the toughest races in the country. Two recent polls show him with a slight lead – but corporate special interests are already dumping millions into this race to defeat him.

That’s why I’m reaching out now: Will you chip in $5 or more to help Sherrod flip Ohio’s Senate seat and give working families a voice in Washington?

Sherrod’s opponent, Jon Husted, doesn’t even believe there’s an affordability crisis in Ohio. Husted believes the solution to the affordability crisis is for Ohio’s families to “earn more” money. He’s completely out of touch with the reality so many families are living every day – rising grocery prices, skyrocketing rent, and the crushing cost of health care.

Sherrod is running to change that. To fight for workers. To stand up to corporate interests. To make sure no one gets left behind in this economy.
