In a move of pure political vengeance, the Trump administration has rejected disaster relief for Coloradans affected by fires and flooding.
It is retribution for the state’s refusal to release Tina Peters, a former Mesa Colorado county clerk serving a nine year state sentence for letting unauthorized operatives access voting machines in an attempt to prop up Trump’s 2020 election lie.
And here’s the kicker: The people in desperate need of these funds are all from deep-red counties.
Lauren Boebert just spit on every Republican in Colorado. This will especially hurt constituents in her old and new congressional districts since both have been ravaged by floods and fires.
Boebert has spent years as one of Tina Peter’s loudest cheerleaders, fueling the fire that brought us to this moment. Now, the chicken has come home to roost. Her extremism has invited this chaos and cruelty into our backyards, and it’s Coloradans who are paying the price.
It’s time to end Boebert’s cruel circus act. Democrat and former science & tech civil servant Trisha Calvarese is running to replace Lauren Boebert and restore representation to this district.
Boebert is more vulnerable than ever. Boebert is only in Congress because of a razor-thin margin of just 546 votes. Last time Trisha ran, she delivered the best performance a Democrat has ever had in this district, outperforming Kamala Harris by 6 points.
