Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) has announced her plans to retire, which will open up her Wyoming Senate seat in 2026.
Lummis has been a consistent conservative leader in Congress for more than a decade. For eight years in the House of Representatives and five years in the Senate, she has fought for the Constitution, border security, and the interests of Western states.
Lummis is best known as Congress’s strongest advocate for digital assets and currencies. Her work in creating the legal framework to protect the development of Bitcoin, stablecoins, and other innovations earned Lummis the nickname “Crypto Queen.”
Senate Conservatives Fund is proud to have supported Lummis in her Senate race in 2020. Thanks to grassroots conservatives like you, we invested over $1.5 million in Lummis’s campaign to ensure voters knew which candidate to support.
Lummis ultimately won 59% of the vote in the Republican primary and 72% in the general election. Having stuck to her principles during her first term, Lummis was a shoo-in for re-election next year. Conservatives around the country are sorry to see Cynthia go. The whole country owes her a debt of thanks for her years of service.
Now Lummis’s seat is wide open in 2026. SCF is already vetting potential candidates. Wyoming’s only House member, Rep. Harriet Hageman, is a full-spectrum conservative with a 98% lifetime score from Heritage Action. She would be an excellent candidate to succeed Lummis.
Wyoming is a bright red state that Republicans are almost sure to win next year. SCF will do everything we can to ensure that Republican is another principled leader who grassroots conservatives can enthusiastically support.
