‘Tis the season for giving. But Donald Trump and Ohio Republicans are working overtime to take things away.
Here’s the deal: Governor DeWine signed a bill into law that restricts mail-in voting, eliminating the “grace period” for mail ballots postmarked by Election Day to be counted if they arrive within 4 days. This strips eligible voters of the ability to make their voices heard due to the speed of the mail, and will have an outsized impact on rural voters on slower mail routes, as well as seniors, students, and anyone without reliable transportation.
This is all Trump wants this Christmas: for thousands of ballots to be rejected for something entirely out of voters' control.
