Last week, I was honored to join the Wisconsin Farmers Union at their annual convention in Wisconsin Dells. Their concerns are my concerns — I’m committed to protecting the tens of thousands of farms here in Wisconsin, and that means defending them against Trump’s terrible and unpredictable tariff policies that continue to threaten their livelihoods.

Farmers are the backbone of our economy — they feed our state, create jobs, and are an economic engine. I’m proud to have visited farms all across our state to thank them for their work and serve as a partner to helping them thrive.

Over the last year, we have seen the chaos brought on by Donald Trump's disastrous tariff policies. Equipment is more expensive for farmers, there are fewer opportunities to sell their goods. Worse yet — many have been forced to close down because they simply can’t keep up with the rising costs.

This is absolutely unacceptable. We need to protect our family farms, not with haphazard announcements from the President that lead to damage and instability.
