*Introducing: The LCB Rules Tracker – From Proposal to Final Rules*
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) is expanding its interactive data resources to provide a clearer view of how LCB works to promote public health, ensure safety, and serve our communities.
Yesterday, LCB posted a * **Rules Tracker for active rules projects* [ [link removed] ] that provides a simple look at the steps LCB takes as projects move from an initial proposal to final rule. This tool makes it easy to follow the process of the rulemaking lifecycle by allowing you to:
* "See Where Rules Started": Easily identify whether a project was initiated by a new law passed by the Legislature or a petition from the public.
* "Filter by Substance:" Quickly find the specific projects that matter to you, such as whether they involve liquor or cannabis.
* "Review Past Outcomes:" Access a record of past rulemaking results and decisions on petitions in one centralized location.
* "Send Your Input:" Easily submit comments and find upcoming stakeholder engagement sessions or public hearings.
In addition to the rules tracker, the LCB Research Program established a foundational data-dashboard initiative last year covering:
* Cannabis Use Patterns: Insights into consumer trends and market behaviors
* Tax Revenue: Real-time data for liquor and cannabis revenues
* Youth Access Compliance: Compliance rates for liquor, cannabis, and tobacco/vapor
LCB is committed to removing information barriers. These data access tools are a non-partisan, objective resource designed to support evidence-based decision-making. By updating the rules tracker weekly, you will have the most current information available.
More information about the rules tracker will be presented on Wednesday, Jan.7 at the LCB Board meeting at 10 a.m.
