Hey John, it’s Shannon.
I love to cook. Especially when things get hectic and the days feel too short, cooking is how I slow down and take care of the people I love. It’s how I bring folks together around the table – even when schedules are packed, and life feels overwhelming.
One of my favorites this time of year is an easy turkey chili. It tastes like it simmered all day, but it comes together fast – perfect after holiday shopping, a long workday, or when family drops by unexpectedly.

For me, food has always been about connection and community – which is exactly what this campaign is about, too. Over the past months, I’ve sat down with Coloradans in living rooms and kitchens across our district, listening to their stories, their worries, and their hopes for the future.
Those conversations are a reminder of what’s at stake and why building a strong grassroots campaign matters so much.
That’s why I’m asking: will you chip in $5 or whatever you can before our upcoming FEC deadline? Every donation through this link gets you my chili recipe, and shows real momentum heading into the new year to help us keep organizing, reaching voters, and growing this movement.
