John,
I know you've seen the news about awful attacks on healthcare access for transgender youth coming from Congress and the federal government the last few weeks. It's been a relentless time, and our team is heading into the last week of the year clear-eyed about the work ahead. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that the Trans Youth Emergency Project (TYEP) is committed to meeting this moment head on, and we recently shared that with Erin in the Morning.
Erin Reed, one of the most prominent journalists covering transgender rights in America, just spotlighted our program and our commitment to helping families relocate their care if they are impacted by the proposed CMS rules. Click here to read the full article. ([link removed])
"When asked whether TYEP has the capacity to absorb a surge of families seeking alternatives in the wake of the new rule, organizers said unequivocally that they do."
In less than a year under the hostility of the Trump Administration, we've scaled up to support families impacted by care bans and political attacks. When new bans passed in New Hampshire and Arizona, we were ready to help. When dozens of clinics closed across access states and states with bans, we were ready to help. And if any of these discriminatory proposed CMS rules become law, we will be ready to help with clear information, renewable $500 grants, and more to make sure no family is shut out of care. We can say this with confidence because of you.
“Folks have stepped up with their dollars…I don't want families to feel like they shouldn't reach out because they 'don't really need it' or someone else 'needs it more than them.' We have the capacity to take it on.”
That's what I told Erin, and I wanted to make sure you know it, too. Every donation fuels this program and makes this life-saving work possible. Please donate $100, $50, or anything you can give to make sure we can help everyone who needs us in 2026. ([link removed])
Thank you for being on our team, and for showing up for trans youth as we grapple with this unthinkable wave of attacks on their healthcare. Your support makes all this work possible.
With gratitude,
