Before you log off for the holidays, I wanted to reach out – and I’ll be honest: this is my least favorite part of campaigning.

I didn’t get into this race to ask people for money. I got into it to fight for working families, to protect our freedoms, and to make sure Pennsylvania has a representative who puts people over politics. But running a competitive race in one of the most closely-watched districts in the country means that, unfortunately, I can’t avoid talking about fundraising.

Truthfully? I really wish it were different.

But Republicans know how critical this race is, and we need to be prepared. They’re gearing up to spend big in this race because they know control of the House could come down to this district. They’ve got deep-pocketed dark money donors on their side, and we need grassroots supporters like you to help us match their millions.

This is hard for me to ask, but will you chip in $5 or $10 to help us close the gap ahead of our FEC filing deadline in just 8 days?

Every time I press send on an email like this, I wish I didn’t have to. But when I remember that our campaign is about people, not special interests, it makes it worth it.
