I’m Today I stopped into a toy store to grab a few things for the holidays. One look at the price tags and you’d think the Grinch was running the economy.
But it’s not the green guy ruining Christmas this year. It’s Agent Orange.
His advice to parents struggling with higher prices from his tariff tax? Buy your kids two dolls instead of thirty.
Out of touch doesn’t even begin to cover it.
This wasn’t a joke or a slip of the tongue. He’s been saying this since April, when he kicked off his tariff war in the middle of some of the worst inflation families have faced in years. The result is higher prices, tighter budgets, and more pressure on working parents who are already stretched thin.
Let me be clear: nobody is buying thirty dolls.
Most families are just trying to put one under the tree without going into debt.
Instead of telling families to tighten their belts, how about fixing the mess you made? We need leadership that understands real life, listens, and actually works to lower costs—not shrug them off.
