John,

It has been an eventful first year in Congress. I have been actively working to be part of the solution for our district, and find ways to advance our values in spite of an unstable administration.

There are few things I value more than meeting people, hearing their biggest challenges, and helping make sure their government can work for them. I am grateful to learn everyone’s stories, experiences, and challenges – and to have the opportunity to make their lives better.

Here are just a few updates from the past few weeks across the district. Stay tuned for more!

Everyone deserves a warm meal. That's even more true during the holidays. I was privileged to help serve meals for our community at Hollywood Food Coalition's Thanksgiving Meal Service.

In the same spirit of service, I was grateful to join Union Station Homeless Services, where we prepared meals for Angelenos who just need a little help right now.

I joined the San Fernando Valley Democrats for their Truman Awards, honoring local leaders for their public service. My sincerest congratulations to everyone honored!

I stood with the California Nurses Association to demand the Trump administration properly and fairly address the nursing shortages he is intensifying by restricting access to training and funding.

I joined our Jewish community to stand together and choose light and hope during Hanukkah. We will not be deterred by the rising antisemitic threats. Chag Sameach to all who celebrated.

And I had a lovely time this weekend celebrating the holidays with multiple Democratic Clubs around Los Angeles, who are actively creating next year’s blue wave.

Every day I get to serve this community is a blessing, and I thank you for giving me that trust.

Laura
