John, what a week it’s been.

Our campaign launch was picked up by news outlets from the Washington Post to Virginia Pilot.

People are excited about our grassroots campaign across the Commonwealth, and I’m grateful for the immense support I’ve received so far.

Born and raised in Virginia, I understand our Commonwealth, its history, its challenges, and its many opportunities. As the daughter of a Salvadoran and North African immigrant father and an Irish and Lebanese mother, my experiences reflect the growing diversity of Virginia and the strength that it brings to our future.

Growing up, my family struggled to make ends meet. And when I was pregnant, my job didn’t offer any health insurance. Thankfully, I qualified for Medicaid, which provided healthcare for me and my son -- and saved my son’s life.

Fast forward a few years, I became a member of the new Democratic Majority in Virginia, and I made good on my campaign promises -- one of which was to expand Medicaid for 400,000 Virginians.
